Acanthocalycium spiniflorum (Echinopsis spiniflora) is usually solitary or slowly ramifies through basal shoots. It can develop into an upright cactus with stems that can reach six inches in height. The spines are neatly arranged in rows on the stem. The showy flowers range from white to pinkish purple and have a diameter of about 4 cm. It's a pretty variable type.
