Evergreen, tree-like palm lily up to approx. 5 m with wide, stiff, symmetrically arranged, up to approx. 1 m long, bluish-gray leaves with twisted threads on the leaf edges. The approx. 2 m high inflorescence consists of bell-shaped, greenish-white single flowers .
 This type of palm lily (Yucca carnerosana) is also called the Spanish bayonet. The leaves are broad, green, very firm with black, hard leaf tips. At the edges of the pure species, white fibers loosen in short curls, with crossings these fibers may be missing or only partially pronounced. The leaf cross-section resembles a crescent moon, as the inside is concave.
