The girls' jaw was introduced from Japan to Central Europe around 1850 and is completely hardy here. In Japan, the tree called "Hime-ko-matsu" is often bred as bonsai and can reach an age of over 350 years.
In Central Europe, the girl pine develops into a tree no more than 10 meters high, but often remains much smaller. Already in her youth she trains cones, which then get stuck for several years.
