The mangrove ray palm is a magnificent plant that catches the eye with its pretty foliage. The leaves have an interesting hand-like shape. Licuala spinosa bears creamy white flowers during flowering.

 The preferred location for the mangrove ray palm is a sunny to partially shaded location. The soil or the potted plant soil should be as permeable as possible. Under optimal conditions Licuala spinosa grows expansive and shrub-like and reaches sizes of up to 1.5 m and widths of around 1 m.
